Developing new features for the wishtrip app

Wishtrip is a SaaS product which is constantly working in an agile environment. When adding new features, all the customers can benefit from upgrades instantly

The Problem

How to go about identifying which new features to include, and what is the process?

The Solution

The four considerations when researching a solution:

What? Why? How? When?

Answering the “What?”

and the “Why?”

The solution to this problem is to listen to our customers. This is valuable information in helping us understand which features are most wanted. By listening, we have the answer to both the “what” and the “why” of any prospective new features.

Another part of this phase is breaking the feature down into a list of requirements to make sure that it best meets the users needs.

Building

WishTrip team uses a development process called Agile, a framework designed to shorten the development cycle, increase the customer feedback and to reduce risk.

Using Agile enables the team to deliver fast, high quality and incremental features to its customers.

The development team consists of UI/UX designers, Web and Mobile developers, Backend developers, QA and DevOps engineers, who work together to build and deliver all of the exciting features. WishTrip's product team collaborates both with the development team and with customers to make sure the product meets the needs of its customers.

Testing and Implementation

The QA team, whose job it is to provide confidence to achieve an appropriate level of product quality, has been involved throughout the build.

WishTrip is an outdoor product, which means the QA team is sent out to test the new feature live, to make sure it works in reality, not just virtually.

After the launch, we reach out to the users who had originally requested the feature to hear their feedback. In cases where there is a need for more improvements and tweaks we re-design, build and test until the product matches the needs and the liking of the customer or user.
